CSA stands for

Community Supported Agriculture.

We reference a CSA as a model that vegetable farms use to bridge the gap between producer and consumer. Before the growing season begins, customers commit themselves financially by purchasing a “share”, an investment in the farm. In return, the farm commits is to provide a weekly amount of equal or greater value to the customer over the course of the pre-determined season.

If there has been a bumper crop, that will be reflected in the amount of produce received. For the customer, this relationship develops a closer connection to the food consumed and the farmer who grew it. For the farm, it provides a stabilized financial backing at the beginning of the season when operating costs are at their highest.

What is a CSA?

For 22 weeks, starting May 21st and ending on October 15th, we will be doing a weekly pick up of produce at the garden. We will provide a diversity of fresh produce each week, while also maintaining kitchen staples like salad mix, lettuce, herbs, etc. As producers, our goal is to harvest $25 of produce per member, weekly.

Throughout the season you can expect to see a variety of produce like:

Season Start

  • Beets

  • Sugar Snap Peas

  • Kohlrabi

  • Radishes

  • Spring Salad Mix

  • Arugula

  • Broccoli

Mid Season

  • Beans

  • Carrots

  • Kale

  • Swiss Chard

  • Romaine

  • Cucumber

  • Slicing Tomatoes

  • Summer Squash

Season End

  • Eggplant

  • Peppers

  • Beets

  • Cabbage

  • Broccoli

  • Winter Squash

  • Sauce Tomatoes
